Best Cleaning Habits
Here are some easy step-by step guide to keep in mind when cleaning your computer system.
First and foremost, be sure to completely turn off your system and unplug your computer from its power source.
To remove dust and debris stuck in the cracks of your keyboard and mouse, try using a can of compressed air. Hold the can a few inches away from the surface a use short bursts of air.
Use a microfiber cloth to wipe down the surfaces of your computer. Dampen the cloth with a small amount of water, cleaning solution, or isopropyl alcohol, but be sure to ring out any excess liquid to avoid dripping onto any of the electronic components.
If you come across any hard to remove residue, a cotton swab dipped in a cleaning solution or isopropyl alcohol can do the trick. Just as you did with the microfiber cloth, be sure to remove any excess liquid.
Be sure everything has had the chance to properly dry before plugging in and turning your computer back on.
Do not forget the importance of keeping the area around your computer clean as well. Keep your desk dusted and organized and being sure not to leave sensitive information out in view, like passwords for example.
